Volunteer With Camp Choice BC

Camp Choice BC is built on leadership, mentorship, connection, and example. Our volunteers play an important role in guiding youth through transformational experiences, breakthrough moments, and personal growth.

We are looking for passionate, committed individuals who want to contribute in meaningful ways and help create a safe, supportive, and empowering camp experience.

Clinical Support Volunteer

Clinical Support Volunteers come with social work, counselling, and / or therapy experience and provide emotional support and help contribute to a safe and supportive environment for youth throughout camp.

Responsibilities may include:
• Supporting youth who may need additional emotional care
• Assisting in maintaining a safe, calm, and regulated environment
• Working alongside the camp leadership team as needed
• Offering support within the scope of experience and training

Camp Choice Coach / Mentor (Age 21+)

Camp Choice Coaches / Mentors play a key role in supporting youth throughout the week and helping guide them through camp activities and personal development experiences.

Coaches / Mentors are responsible for:
• Supporting cabin groups throughout the week
• Leading by example in behaviour and attitude
• Assisting with activities and classroom sessions
• Creating a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment
• Supporting youth through emotional and personal growth moments

Jr. Camp Choice Coach (Age 19+ – Past Campers)

We proudly offer past campers the opportunity to return as Jr. Camp Choice Coaches.

This leadership pathway is designed for young adults who have experienced Camp Choice BC and are ready to step into a mentorship and support role.

Jr. Coaches will:
• Support camp leaders and mentors
• Assist with activities and logistics
• Model positive behaviour and leadership
• Continue developing their own leadership skills

Registration / Check-In

Registration / Check-In Volunteers help create a welcoming and organized arrival experience for youth, families, and guests.

Responsibilities may include:
• Greeting participants and families
• Assisting with sign-in and check-in procedures
• Helping direct arrivals and answer general questions
• Supporting organization of forms and materials

Float Volunteer

Float Volunteers provide flexible support wherever needed throughout camp.

Responsibilities may include:
• Assisting in a variety of camp areas as needed
• Helping with transitions, setup, and general logistics
• Supporting staff and volunteers with day-to-day tasks
• Stepping in where extra help is required

Fundraising / Sponsorship Support

Fundraising / Sponsorship Support Volunteers help strengthen the camp through community support and partnership development.

Responsibilities may include:
• Assisting with sponsorship outreach and follow-up
• Supporting fundraising initiatives and campaigns
• Helping organize donor and sponsor materials
• Contributing to the growth and sustainability of Camp Choice BC

General Volunteer Requirements

All volunteers must:
• Complete a successful interview process
• Provide references
• Obtain a Criminal Record Check (BC)
• Commit to full participation for the duration of camp, if required by the role

Additional requirement for Camp Choice Coach / Mentor and Jr. Camp Choice Coach:
• PSI Basic completion is required to serve as a coach or junior coach
